Gov Radda Flags Off N13.8 Billion Shargalle-Dutsi-Ingawa Road Rehabilitation Project

Governor Malam Dikko Umaru Radda has flagged-off the comprehensive rehabilitation of the 39-kilometer Shargalle-Dutsi-Ingawa road, a strategic project valued at 13.8 Billion Naira.
Addressing stakeholders at the flag-off ceremony, Governor Radda emphasized the importance of the road, which has remained neglected since its last rehabilitation in 2004 during the administration of the late Malam Umaru Musa Yar'adua.
The project represents a significant milestone in the administration's 'Building Your Future Agenda', aimed at transforming the state's infrastructure landscape and stimulating local economic growth.
The governor acknowledged the challenges faced by residents and travelers along this vital route, this points to how the road's poor condition has historically impeded transportation, trade, and agricultural activities in the region.
"The state government seeks to create new economic opportunities, improve market access, and enhance the overall quality of life for Katsina State residents," stated Governor Radda.
Calling for collective responsibility, Governor Radda urged community leaders, traditional rulers, and citizens to support the project's execution by ensuring transparency, accountability, and high-quality standards.
He stressed that the road's rehabilitation is more than a construction project—it is a commitment to the welfare and future of Katsina State's people.
Earlier, the State Commissioner of Works, Housing and Transport, Engineer Sani Magaji Ingawa observed that the road is a vital connector that link various communities and facilitate economic activities in Katsina and beyond.
While commending Governor Radda for his visionary leadership and commitment towards the state development, Engineer Ingawa asserted that the road is not only essential in improving transportation and accessibility, but also foster economic growth, enhance trading and social integration.
The flag off ceremony was attended by the Speaker of the Katsina State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Nasir Yahaya Daura; Chief of Staff to the Governor, Hon. Abdullahi Jabiru Tsauri and other members of the State executive council.
The Ministry of Works and Housing, along with dedicated engineers and contractors, will oversee the project's implementation to deliver a durable and high-standard road that will serve the community for years to come.
